Who can join

Anyone can join by first joining one of its nonprofit partner associations. Others qualify as Chevron employees or retirees, Chevron jobbers and dealers, employees of sponsor companies, people in parts of San Francisco or Frederick County, Maryland, or family and household members of an eligible person.

A route open to anyone: Join one of the nonprofit partner associations (such as the Financial Fitness Association) and qualify immediately.

Ways to qualify:

  • Members of a nonprofit partner association (Financial Fitness Association or Contra Costa County Historical Society)
  • Employees or retirees of Chevron Corporation, its wholly owned subsidiaries and select affiliates; Chevron branded jobbers and dealers; federal lubricant marketers; select Chevron contractors; employees of sponsor companies
  • Live, work, worship or attend school in select areas of San Francisco, California, or Frederick County, Maryland
  • Family or household members of an eligible person, including family of a deceased member

The nonprofit partner page says the credit union pays the Financial Fitness Association's $8 membership fee. The same charter's Spectrum Credit Union brand (spectrumcu.org, which runs the Bountiful branch) also lists non-manual employees of Bechtel Corporation.
